Hi Pet Lovers,

"Summertime and the living is easy!" but that's about to end. We are back on the road beginning this weekend...September 29th we'll be in Pendleton, SC at Town and Country Pet Grooming. Come by and see us if you are in the area.

Our schedule for the rest of the year is posted on our website...www.royalpetography.com. To get you in the mood, here's one of our fall pictures and a Christmas picture from last year.

We were in Burlington, NC on September 15th and had a lot of fun. We'll be back at Nature's Emporium in Burlington on December 1st doing Christmas pictures. We will offer Christmas cards and, yes, you can order them that late and still get them in time for Christmas!! Now, for you folks that don't celebrate Christmas...don't worry....we'll also have some non-holiday set ups.

"Fins and Critters"

We were in Shelby, North Carolina yesterday at "Fins and Critters" pet store. We had the opportunity to meet some really nice people and take pictures of their great pets. If you like aquariums, Fins and Critters is the place to go. They have a huge assortment of fish.....saltwater and regular...and all the equipment you could possibly ever need to set up your own.

We got to watch a mini-schnauzer tap dance with all four feet....she's very talented! We photographed all sizes....from a tiny Maltese puppy to a chunky, beautiful Samoyed that would do anything for a treat!

We're finding out that you ladies like pink...pink....and more pink! We have several new set-ups that include a lot of pink things and they are very popular. If you have suggestions for props, please feel free to let us know. We have an especially hard time coming up with new things for the male pets.

Our Christmas schedule is already on line at our website...www.royalpetography.com....if you would like to check it out. We have lots of territory to cover and not that much time so we start early. You can go ahead and check to see when we'll be in your area and make plans now; we'll have cards and lots of goodies to offer for the holiday season.

So long for now but keep check on this site as you never know who might pop up in our photo section!

Welcome Pet Lovers

Come on in and sit a while! Kick off your shoes and make yourself comfortable. We're just plain Southern folk and we hope this will help you know us better. We're now into the "Dog Days of Summer" and what better time to talk about our favorite subject....dogs!!! (Uh, to be honest, we like cats, birds, bunnies, reptiles, and just about any other pet also and will devote plenty of time to them also. They are just not fortunate enough to have a season named after them.)

We've been in the pet photo business since 1988 and enjoy it as much now as then. We've seen lots of breeds come and go, we've scooped a lot of poop, we've laughed a LOT, and we've even cried with some of you from time to time. Our pictures have traveled around the world...beginning with the Persian Gulf War in 1990....and continuing to do so with the current group of soldiers in Iraq and other various places. My husband, Neal, was our first photographer and I was his assistant. We adopted our daughter, Gracie, in 1992 and now I'm the photographer and she is my assistant!! A couple more years and Gracie will be the photographer.....and I'll .....well, we'll see!

We started out with a simple 35mm Nikon camera and selling printed proofs, now we use an Olympus digital camera and show you your proofs on a computer screen within minutes. At the beginning of the new century, Neal joined with Thomas to begin a new (but still the same) pet photography business. Neal used to sell his own proofs but then Thomas took on that responsibility. Now, Thomas or Ginnie sells from the laptop.

Things have changed but one thing has not....we still love animals or we wouldn't be in this business.

Keep check on this site and we'll be telling you about upcoming events and new backgrounds, props, etc. If you have suggestions, we would love to hear them. Take care, Willene
